THE BEST RESULTS FROM ANY INTENSE PULSE TREATMENT WILL COME DOWN TO THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL OF THE OPERATOR AND THE HEALTH AND STRENGTH OF THE CLIENTS SKIN.
IPL refers to Intense Pulse Light. An IPL machine utilises specific wavelengths of light to target various chromophores in the skin - hair, pigment and vascular. The light from these wavelengths converts into thermal energy and creates a cellular change in the skin, without disrupting the skins surface.
We use IPL for:
• Hair Reduction • Skin Rejuvenation • Skin Tightening •
ARE YOU SICK OF WAXING OR SHAVING?
IPL for Permanent Hair Reduction could be the answer for you. Say goodbye to unwanted hair growth on all body areas, including upper lip, cheeks, chin, neck, breasts, stomach, arms, shoulders, bikini area, legs and back.
The IPL machine emits pulses of filtered light that are attracted to melanin, a pigment found in hair. The light is absorbed by the melanin and transformed into heat, SELECTIVELY DESTROYING THE GERMINATING CELLS THAT FEED THE HAIR FOLLICLES FOR GROWTH. By eliminating these cells, the hair then dies and begins to fall out, inhibiting future growth.
IPL PROVIDES A SAFE, FAST AND EFFECTIVE WAY TO PERMANENTLY REDUCE UNWANTED FACIAL AND BODY HAIR FOR BOTH MEN & WOMEN.
Multiple treatments are required to obtain permanent hair reduction and it is important to note that after completion of these treatments, a maintenance session may be necessary from time to time due to the development of new hair growth - perhaps a couple of times a year.
An initial consultation ($39) and skin patch test is required to assess your compatibility for the treatment and to put together a treatment program that suits you.
NOT A CANDIDATE FOR IPL? WE MAYBE ABLE TO STILL ASSIST YOU IN PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION WITH ELECTROLYSIS.
Like IPL, electrolysis is a progressively permanent hair reduction treatment, but instead of targeting numerous hairs at the same time, it treats one hair at a time. So yes, it is slower, however it does work on non-pigmented hair - grey/white.
WE USE ELECTROLYSIS FOR HAIR REDUCTION ON THE FACE AREA.
A fine metal probe is gently slid into the base of the hair follicle, to where the cells responsible for growing the hair are situated. Intensity is applied to the base of the follicle which destroys the cells that grow the hair.
During the treatment you may experience a heat sensation which is associated with the intensity being applied.
The treatment is called progressively permanent hair reduction as it is difficult to destroy all the cells after one treatment. If the cells aren't destroyed the hair will grow back finer, softer and lighter until eventually all the cells are destroyed and the follicle is unable to produce another hair.
Everybody is different so it is difficult to say the exact amount of treatments you will need. It is dependent on the size of the hair, how often you are willing to come in for treatments and other possible factors such as hormones and medication you may be using.
